So we finally decided to try Cat's bread pudding recipe. Jessica helped by cutting the bread and mixing the wet ingredients. It was actually quite simple. Unfortunately I used the wrong type of bread so it was a little salty, but overall, it was fairly good and next time we know not to use Italian bread. The anglaise sauce was the kicker and saved the dessert.
