On Saturday we went to school for the hot dog and ice cream social. It was an opportunity for the kids to play and meet some other families. We were one of the first to arrive and were approached by a very friendly man who welcomed us to the school. We just though that he was the parent of a child, but after a few minutes of conversation, realized that he was the new head of the school. He will have his hands full from early on as the school is a prime target for the new H1N1 flu virus with its very international school demographics. After hotdogs, Michael played a game of chess with another student, a couple of years older, and was very happy to beat him. The other boy was from Israel. Then it was to the cafeteria for some ice cream, hagendaz no less, then water gun fights on the soccer field. Stephanie had a ball as she ran around with daddy and other kids spraying water til her heart's content.
