Friends...
The other day I ran into Valerie, one of my best friends from high school, at the playground. Quite coincidentally it turns out that she lives just on the other side of Withrow Park. We couldn't believe that we had been living in such close proximity all these years. So she invited us over for a bbq and we had a great time. It was quite surreal to see other high school friends, Michelle, Steve (Val's hubby), and Serge with their respective children. Except for some grey hair, or lack thereof, and a few more laugh lines , everyone looked the same. It was truly wonderful to see these familiar faces, and also to see glimpses of them in their children. I think it was special for Jessica and Michael as it was an opportunity to get a glimpse into Mommy's past which Jessica seems to have taken a deeper interest in lately as she approaches tweenhood.
