It's that time of the year again when every corner of Withrow Park is occupied by kids and adults playing baseball, soccer, ball hockey, and even yoga. It's great to see a park being used so efficiently by its community dwellers. Michael started soccer today and there were a lot more kids this time than I remember from last spring. Michael was a little apprehensive about joining soccer this year as he seems to think he is not very good at it but we decided that he would give it a try, and that if he didn't like it, he would quit. Well, he was awesome, and even scored 2 goals! The kids ran around for an hour straight and displayed some great soccer skills. At the end of the game, Michael was the one trying to convince me that he wanted to continue. I have to admit, besides the joy of watching our son, I love sitting on the bleachers on a warm sunny evening as the sun sets gently behind me. The scene before me, the sounds around me, and the smell of freshly cut grass makes everything seem simple. Life is good.
